29th July 2017 - 5th August 2017

Book now for a week of intensive study in Central London examining other religions alongside Christianity’s exclusive claims, with professors & pastors from The Master’s Seminary.

Many people recognise the great value of John MacArthur's straightforward approach to handling Scripture, but sadly few take the trouble to study to show themselves approved – learning the skills they need to be able to rightly handle the Word of Truth. The tragic effect of a careless approach by bible-teachers inevitably shows up in our lives and our churches.

We're so excited to have another opportunity to bring in teachers who've laboured hard to be able to help us understand our Bibles better—and more than that—to help us with the tools we need to do the work ourselves.

Book yourself a week off, and book now for this week's study designed to equip you with the essential skills for living your life along Biblical lines!

Event Schedule

Donna Drion, Barbara Barrick Saturday 29th July 10:30am - 4:00pm

Women's Conference

Women at Work: Bible-Driven Living for Women in the Workplace

What does God’s Word have to say to me about how to handle the pressures women face in the workplace? How do His priorities for our lives apply in today’s modern world?

What about a woman’s ambitions? How can we deal with the demands of working both inside and outside the home?

If these questions - or others like them - are on your mind, then join Donna Drion, Barbara Barrick and other speakers for this year’s Women’s Conference where we’ll be unpacking the Biblical answers to the struggles women face in the workplace.

Dr. William Barrick Monday 31st July Tuesday 1st August 10:30am - 6:00pm

Islam

Speaker, Dr. William Barrick

Understanding Islam has never been more important, both to reach Muslims effectively, and to stand firm in our faith as the world reacts to Islam out of ignorance.

Like it or not, Islam is impacting our lives. Yet it is widely misunderstood, even among Christians. We have a duty to get to know the facts. Loving Muslims does not mean accepting what they say, but to bring them the truth about Jesus, we need to be known as those who deal with truth, not as those who peddle misinformation.

Dr. William Barrick is unusually qualified to talk about Islam, having lived and worked among Muslims for many years.

He served in Bangladesh for 15 years as a missionary, translating the Bible into Bengali. Since then, he has served on the translation committees for the NASB and the ESV, and was OT professor at The Master’s Seminary for almost 20 years.

Dr. Keith Essex Monday 31st July Tuesday 1st August 7:00pm - 9:00pm

7 Churches Under Pressure

Speaker, Dr. Keith Essex

How did the first churches respond to the many pressures to conform to the world around them? Not least was the pressure to conform to the doctrinal pluralism of the day, and accept idolatry and false teaching.

Join us every evening from Monday-Friday for this study in Christ’s letters to the churches which will highlight the need for Christians to stand firm, the action they took to do so, and the consequences of compromise.

Dr Keith Essex is an off-site Elder at GraceLife London, and Associate Professor of Bible Exposition at The Master’s Seminary, where he has taught since 1992. He has been a pastor, overseen church-planting, helped direct the Doctor of Ministry at TMS, and taught around the world.

Dr William Barrick, Pastor Tom Drion Wednesday 2nd August 10:00am - 6:00pm

British Museum and Church History Tours

Join us Wednesday for an entirely different kind of study, as a few of the speakers conduct tours of the British Museum and a local church history tour.

Dr William Barrick will present information ahead of time about the artefacts to be viewed in the British Museum, and some of the speakers will then escort attendees around the museum, guiding them through the material.

Pastor Tom Drion will lead a guided walk around the local area, with many sites connected to the highlights of British church history, from William Tyndale, through the Reformation, to George Whitefield and the Great Awakening.

Rick Holland Thursday 3rd August Friday 4th August 10:30am - 12:45pm

Inclusivism and Intolerance

Speaker, Rick Holland

Christians face enormous pressure to compromise from the new “Tolerance.”

We are supposed to embrace the “Inclusive” agenda, or face an even violent hatred that seemed unthinkable a few years ago. In the face of such pressure, we desperately need to stand firm on the Biblical gospel, with its exclusive claims, and also to understand the mixed messages we are receiving from the world around us.

Join us Thursday and Friday mornings as we examine the foundations of these pressures, and stake out the ground on which we have to take our stand.

Dr. Rick Holland has served as Senior Pastor of Mission Road Bible Church in Kansas since 2011. Prior to that he spent 25 years at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. While there, he pastored the college and singles ministry, and served as the Executive Pastor under Dr. John MacArthur.

Mike Fabarez Thursday 3rd August Friday 4th August 2:15pm - 6:00pm

Other Religions and Cults

Speaker, Mike Fabarez

Every time another religion or cult presents truth claims about God or salvation, it boils down to bad theology! Taking time to study their error is helpful on two fronts: it strengthens believers in their understanding of the truth as it’s presented in the Bible, and

it helps equip us to rightly respond to those who are in error.

Join us on Thursday and Friday afternoons as we examine the thinking behind Judaism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Seventh-Day Adventists, and the new Atheism.

Dr. Mike Fabarez is the founding pastor of Compass Bible Church in Aliso Viejo, California. A graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Talbot School of Theology and Westminster Theological Seminary in California, Mike teaches preaching to doctoral students at The Master’s Seminary. He’s heard on the Focal Point radio program, and is the author of several books.

Men's Conference

Men at Home: Bible-Driven Living for Men in the Home

Men often find it easier to know how to live in the workplace than at home. Despite successes we have in the workplace, when the lives we build at home are not driven along Biblical lines we are heading for a crash!

Join Dr. Rick Holland, Dr. Mike Fabarez, Tom Drion and Adam Waller for a day of digging deep into God’s Word for the principles and practices men need so we can live

Biblically at home.

Tom Drion and Adam Waller are two of the pastors at GraceLife London, both trained at The Master’s Seminary.
